Fall is just around the corner.
Fall is creeping up quickly, meaning more time in school and activities! We are happy to host the 3rd year of afterschool kids/teen sewing! Sew and Grow is our weekly sewing series to help grow your skills as a semester! This year we have Mondays from 3:15-4:45 or Wednesdays from 4:45 (5) to 6:15(30). This course is a flexible sewing schedule for those in sports who might have to adjust their months.
This class has monthly payments, so if you need to switch to a Monday for a month, you can! Or signup for all the Wednesdays! It is easy and fun. We love this class as it is an economical way to keep your kid sewing. Great for both boys and girls. STEAM is a big part of sewing! But we make it fun.
There is a registration fee for the first time you register. And Sewing 101 is a required class before entering the series. Contact us for more info!
Adult Sew and Grow!
Like the kid/teen class, we have a class geared toward 17+, on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm or Tuesdays from 5:30- 7:30. A registration fee and Sewing 101 are required.
This class is great for adults; you get 2 hours of dedicated sewing time a week. Also, with adult and kid/teen classes, you will receive a 10% discount whenever you shop at the studio. This doesn’t include classes.
New Classes coming
I am finishing up the samples for some NEW fall classes this year! We will still always have Sewing 101, Totebags, Pillowcases, and PJs every year; however, this year, we have hosted a few Quilting 101 classes that have been fun, and students have sewn perfect points! We will also host Quilting classes during the fall and winter. Quilting 101 will be required; most quilting classes will require precutting your pieces. If you need help, you can always schedule drop-in sew with assistance to learn or practice cutting with the quilting tools.
Project bags, Dog Bandanas, Dog Coats, Linden Sweatshirt, New Quilt Blocks (Bats, Ghost, Pumpkin, Ohio Star).
Shop Turns 7 – Come Celebrate August 26th 10-3pm
I am excited about the fall’s cooler nights, cardigans, hand embroidery, and bonfires. It also means that the studio/school has turned 7! This also means I have been in the same space for almost 3 years! Any business owner or someone who moves knows it’s not cheap or fun. But we found our home at 2290 Patterson Rd, Dayton, Oh 45420. And we would love for you to come celebrate by coming to our Annual Garage Sale!
We put out many patterns, fabric bundles, trims, and things we no longer need at the studio and want to get a good home. It’s all priced to move! We will post teasers as we get things pulled out and priced!
This is a great time for new sewists to shop to get some useful items for their stashes or kits! Also we will have a local vendor selling her yarn!
I am working on a food truck but at this time we are TBD.
Enjoy
I will be back soon to update with photos of some samples and reasons classes are still always a great way to learn something new! It doesn’t have to be a hustle, hobby or trade. It can be for you or any of those reasons, also you are never too old to learn something new. I teach all ages (with parental assistance starting at5) but in groups at 7-8 and older! If you can get through the door, I can help.
Talk to you soon and please leave any class ideas in the comments!
